Thank you to all the parent helpers who made our December pack meeting such a success. Our volunteer committee did a fantastic job running the show. They came up with unique activities, set them up, and ran the centers for each group of kids. It was a huge team effort.

Our committee members are Kathleen Alexander-Blue, Kristi Kroener, Dona Whitney, Amy MacDonald, Cristina Carlson, Blake Kite, Kathy Wise, Michele Westfall, Pam Hoffer, Kevin Erwin, and Rich Hoey.

Collection for Packages From Home

During this season of giving, we will collect items at our December 9th pack meeting to support Packages from Home, a Phoenix-based charity that collects support items and distributes them to US troops stationed around the world. Here is a short list of most needed items on the Packages from Home website.

Each den will focus on one item:
  • Tigers: Pre-sweetened powdered drink mixes (Crystal Lite, Gatorade, KoolAid…)
  • Wolves: Coffee (ground, vacuum pak or small cans)
  • Bear #1 (Whitney): Foot Powder (Gold Bond etc.)
  • Bear #2 (Cramer): Eye Drops (for desert environment)
  • Lightning: Lip Balm (Blistex, Carmex, Chapstick etc.)
  • Scorpions: Men’s Deodorant (Stick type - NOT antiperspirant)

Webelos Weekend with Troop 648 -- 1/8 - 1/9


The Webelo patrols are invited to "Webelos Weekend" in January with Troop 648 (Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 64th Street- North of Shea). Our sons are required to attend Boy Scout functions; meetings, camping trips, etc. as part of the requirements for their Arrow of Light or the Outdoorsman Activity Badge.

November Pack Meeting is Tonight!


Don't forget that our November pack meeting is tonight, November 18, 7:00 PM, in the Copper Canyon multipurpose room. Remember to bring your Genius Kit creations and accompanying instruction sheet with your name on the front, and complete information as requested on the back: your rank (Tiger, Wolf, etc.), the name of your creation, and a description of your creation.

Also please bring any non-perishable food donations to be provided to the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank.

Genius Kits and Food Drive Pack Meeting - November 18

Don't forget that our November pack meeting is coming up Thursday, November 18, 7:00 PM at the Copper Canyon Multipurpose room. If you haven't already started on your Genius Kits, time is ticking away...

Also, for this meeting, we'd like to revive a tradition of collecting non-perishable food items at our November pack meeting to help the hungry. Please bring non-perishable donations to the November pack meeting, and we'll see that they are transported to the Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank. From their website:

In addition to canned goods of all kinds, there is a need for hot and cold cereals, juices, dry milk, spaghetti, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, jelly, baby food, detergent, soap, toilet paper and diapers.

Scout Night with the Phoenix Suns - December 10

The Phoenix Suns are holding Scout Night on Friday, December 10, 7:00 PM versus the Portland Trailblazers. Paul Kaiser will be coordinating a ticket purchase on behalf of our pack, so that we can get seats together. Details are available from the attached flyer. Winter Day Camp is here!!!

Come join the fun this winter with us!!! Winter Day Camp at the Heard Scout Pueblo. All ranks are invited. We do not have any rank specific events.

The camp will be open daily from 12/27 until 12/29.

Below are the events offered this year.

  • Basketball (Basketball Belt Loop)
  • Orienteering (Map and Compass Belt Loop)
  • BB Guns (BB Gun Belt Loop)
  • Craft – Leatherworking project

Halloween Pack Meeting - October 21

The October pack meeting is coming soon. Get ready to be frightened by ghouls, goblins, and vampires. Scouts, parents and siblings are encouraged to show up in costume. Each den has been working on pumpkins for our annual pumpkin contest. We will have fun and games and even a spooky haunted house hosted by Troop 316.
